NEWSColwyn Bay 0 Bamber Bridge 1Date Posted : 6th September 2008
Brig overcame both their opponents and the elements to record a fine win at a windswept Llanelian Road but it took a penalty save from Andy Banks deep into stoppage time to secure the points.
The two sides met just seven days ago in the FA Cup at Irongate with Brig winning that game 4-3. Brig boss Phil Entwistle made two changes from that side. Adam Tong and Mark Edmeads dropping to the bench. Stuart Howson made his Brig debut, and there was also a first Brig start for midfielder Steve Flitcroft. Making a welcome return from New Zealand was winger Steve Brown who took a seat on the bench.
Colwyn Bay boss Steve Pope made three changes from last week’s starting line-up. Down to the bench went former Brig striker Andy Moran as well as Matt Wood, and Danny Hughes went out completely. Carl Frost, Wayne Corden and Luke O’Mahoney replacing them.
